Where has the time gone?

A great deal has happened in the two years since my last post. From writing for my college newspaper to a local internship, writing has opened doors that were closed before. I have learned that there is tremendous power in the words we write everyday. Is it not amazing how our words stir the emotions of people around the world 24 hours a day seven days a week. News cycles keep spinning as the world spins with it, driving people to invest their lives into the creative pieces journalists produce.

In the fine words of Bill Cosby, “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.”

I am now a journalist and I am not afraid to fail, for through my failure I will rise. I am grateful for my opportunities to share my abilities with others.

This is not the last time you will hear from Blogrookie3!

Take care,

Pacman vs. Bradley

After tonights interesting boxing match between Manny Pacquaio and Tim Bradley left many boxing viewers disgusted by what took place. Even landing more punches 253-159 Pacman lost to split decision. Some might even say that the judges decision compares closely to Tim Donaghy and his point-shaving scandal. If you were the judge what would you have scored that fight? Pacquaio or Bradley?

WNCAA: Missouri Tigers add recruit in Darian Saunders

On April 24th, Darian Saunders made her college career official by signing with the Missouri Tigers. From Palo Verde High School Tucson,Arizona Saunders will be a great student-athlete right when she steps on the campus. Finishing 13-18 and losing 4 seniors from this years team, the Tigers need help on the front line. Saunders could be that player to help the Tigers in the offensive post as well as on defense. She is that player that shows emotion throughout the whole game, and really cares about the other players on the team. Look for her to get good playing time and help the Tigers back to winning ways! Good Luck Darian.

Fireworks in Miami!

With the win in Game 6, we once again see that Lebron James and the Heat are one step closer to his/their assumed title rings through what he said they will get. “Not 5, not 6, not 7, not 8″ were the words he spoke to the Miami fans, and now the Heat face a path through the Celtics/ 76ers, and hopefully to a later foe of the Spurs/ Thunder matchup. Even without Chris Bosh, Wade and Lebron will not surrender to anyone although they both need nearly 30+ pts/gm each to have a fighting chance. All we can do now is watch and see what not only Miami will do, but the rest of the teams still in the running for the Championship trophy.

Injuries!

During the Nba playoffs ,stars such as Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Iman Shumpert, Caron Butler and many others find themselves sitting in the back seat sidelined my significant injuries. There respective teams take blows in the rotation that can hurt their playoff runs. Either in the regular season or playoffs many other players face injuries as well. Teams that many people had making their way to finals now are being put out of the 1st round. Is it just wear and tear on these players even in the shortened season? All we can be sure of is that injuries are a part of the game. Some of these playoff teams, i.e Chicago, Magic, Clippers, and Knicks maybe be going home earlier than expected without there impact players on the court.

Wow, just seeing his face after the injury is terrible to watch… Praying next year he comes back strong, and not injury prone.

It is being officially reported now that Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose tore his ACL and is done for the remainder of the playoffs. This seriously damages the Bulls’ chances of winning a championship.

The NFL Draft

image

As today marks another day in history, the Nfl will embrace rookies from all over. The 1st round tonight will have many expected picks, while some teams will trade and move up or down to grab players they need. Overall i expect day one to be exciting like all 1st rounds are. This will be the year of DEFENSE in my opinion, because like everyone knows Defense wins championships!
